    • US: Updated CDC Considerations for Workplaces
      The CDC has updated COVID-19 safety guidelines for workplaces and businesses, including recommendations for employers on worker consent, post-vaccination symptoms, the use of testing and building safety protocols. As companies bring remote workers back or increase capacity at their facilities, the CDC has also outlined scenarios for the frequency and type of cleaning needed to ensure worker safety. Keep in mind that state and local requirements may differ.

    • UK: Temporary Right to Work Check Adjustments Ending
      Following the ease of COVID-19 restrictions, the temporary right to work checks put in place at the onset of the pandemic will now end on June 20, 2021, a change from the previous government announcement that the temporary process would end mid-May. The move from the UK Home Office means the end of temporary measures, like accepting scanned documents and carrying out checks over video calls, and replaces them with the standard options to view an applicant’s documents in person or check their right to work online with a share code for Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) or EU Settlement Status checks.


    • Singapore: Job Support Scheme Extended
      The Job Support Scheme (JSS), a wage subsidy program intended to help employers retain local employees during the pandemic, has been extended another six months in key industries. The JSS will provide continued wage support for the hard-hit aviation and tourism sector through September 2021, and the food service industry through June 2021, according to the 2021 COVID-19 Resilience Package.


    • China: Visas Facilitated for Applicants Inoculated With Vaccines
      Visa applicants who receive a Chinese COVID-19 vaccine and produce a vaccine certificate can apply for certain work visas under a simplified process. Pre-pandemic application criteria now applies to foreign nationals and their families visiting for resuming work in various fields, and to holders of valid Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) cards applying for China business or trade visas, M visas for short, with an invitation letter.
